Claus Raible International Quintet
“Groove, Grooved, Groovin’” is both a title and a promise: electrifying energy, razor-sharp precision, and uncompromising expressive power.
Claus Raible presents his international quintet in a new program built around recent compositions by the leader.
Deeply rooted in the essence of jazz, the music brings that spirit fully into the present with uncompromising intensity.
The Munich-based pianist embodies this musical heritage with the authenticity of a native speaker, the intensity of an obsessive, and the authority of an insider. Bebop — pure and unfiltered — lies at the core of his musical identity.
As a composer, Raible has a highly distinctive voice: unexpected harmonic turns, sharply defined melodies, a strong sense of form, and an unerring feel for groove.
Joining him are four outstanding soloists from the international jazz scene: US alto saxophonist Brad Leali, one of the most distinctive voices on alto saxophone today; British trumpeter Steve Fishwick, whose playing combines technical brilliance with inner fire and melodic clarity; Serbian bassist Miloš Čolović; and Munich-based drummer Xaver Hellmeier.
Together, they form a band that breathes as a single organism — energized, intensely communicative, and compelling from the first note to the last.
